Billing settings

Viewing Your Current Plan

Your current plan and billing status are displayed at the top of the Settings page:

  • Plan name (Free, Starter, Standard, Pro)
  • Billing period (monthly)
  • Next billing date
  • Payment method on file

  1. Go to Settings > Manage Subscription.
  2. In the Stripe portal, click Payment methods.
  3. Click Add payment method to add a new card.
  4. Enter your new card details.
  5. Set it as the default payment method.
  6. Remove the old card if you no longer need it.

Viewing Invoices

  1. Go to Settings > Manage Subscription.
  2. In the Stripe portal, click Billing history or Invoices.
  3. You can view and download PDF invoices for each billing period.

  1. Go to Settings > Manage Subscription.
  2. Click Change Plan or Upgrade.
  3. Select your new plan.
  4. Confirm the change.
  5. The upgrade takes effect immediately. You are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period.

  5. The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
warning

When downgrading, ensure you are within the new plan's portfolio limit. If you have more portfolios than the new plan allows, you will need to delete excess portfolios before the downgrade can complete.

Cancelling Your Subscription

  1. Go to Settings > Manage Subscription.
  2. Click Cancel subscription in the Stripe portal.
  3. Confirm the cancellation.
  4. Your paid features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
  5. After the billing period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan.

What Happens After Cancellation

  • You keep your first portfolio and all its data.
  • If you have multiple portfolios, you retain access to view them, but you will need to delete down to one portfolio to continue making changes.
  • No data is deleted automatically. Your transactions, holdings, and reports remain intact.
  • You can re-subscribe at any time to regain access to paid features.

Failed Payments

If a payment fails (e.g., expired card, insufficient funds):

  1. Stripe automatically retries the payment over the next few days.
  2. You receive an email notification about the failed payment.
  3. Update your payment method as soon as possible.
  4. If payment continues to fail after multiple retries, your subscription may be downgraded to the Free plan.
