Holding Notes
Notes let you attach personal observations, research, and reminders to individual holdings. They are visible only to you and help you remember why you made an investment decision or track your evolving thesis over time.
Use Cases
- Investment thesis -- Record why you bought the stock ("Strong dividend growth history, trading below intrinsic value")
- Research notes -- Key findings from earnings reports or analyst coverage
- Price targets -- Your personal target buy/sell prices
- Reminders -- "Review after Q3 earnings on Nov 15"
- Observations -- Market conditions or news that affect the holding

- Select the Notes tab.
- Click Add Note.
- Type your note in the text field.

Your note appears at the top of the list with a timestamp showing when it was created.

- Click the Delete button (trash icon).
- Confirm the deletion in the dialog.
warning
Deleted notes cannot be recovered. If you are unsure, consider editing the note instead of deleting it.
Tips for Effective Notes
- Date your observations -- Include the current date at the start of notes about market events (e.g., "2024-06-15: Strong Q3 results, beat estimates by 5%")
- Keep a running log -- Add new notes over time rather than editing old ones, so you have a chronological history of your thinking
- Be specific -- Include numbers, dates, and references (e.g., "PE ratio dropped to 14.2x, below 5-year average of 16.5x")
- Record your reasoning -- Note why you bought or sold, not just what you did (helpful for reviewing decisions later)
