Add & import your investments
Everything in Metrifly — your holdings, performance, dividends, and tax reports — is built from your trades. So the first real job is getting those trades in. There are four ways to do it, and you can mix and match.
Start here
Section titled “Start here”If you have more than a handful of trades, linking a supported broker or importing a file is usually the fastest way to get set up.
- Link a broker or exchange directly — connect supported brokers and exchanges for automatic trade sync. (Starter plan and above.)
- Sync a crypto exchange with an API key — connect supported crypto exchanges using read-only API credentials. (Starter plan and above.)
- Import your trade history from a file — bulk-import a CSV or Excel export from your broker.
- Add a trade manually — record a single buy, sell, or dividend by hand.
- Record a crypto-to-crypto trade — track direct crypto swaps, fees, and market value.
- Auto-import trades from your broker’s emails — forward contract notes and let Metrifly add the trades for you. (Starter plan and above.)
- Edit, fix, or delete a transaction — correct a mistake or tidy up your history.
Broker guides
Section titled “Broker guides”Metrifly has built-in presets for 40+ brokers that match your export’s columns automatically.
- Find your broker’s export guide — step-by-step export instructions for CommSec, Interactive Brokers, Stake, and more.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- You always add or import into a single portfolio — switch out of any group view first.
- Don’t see your broker in the list? Any broker that exports a CSV or Excel file still works. See Import your trade history from a file.
- Direct link not available for your broker? File import and email forwarding cover 100+ providers.
- Some crypto activity, such as staking rewards or unsupported swaps, may still need manual entry.
