Read a holding's detail page

Click any holding to open its detail page, where everything about that one position lives across five tabs — Overview, Trades, Dividends, Notes, and Settings. This walks you through what each tab shows so you can read a holding in full.

  1. Go to your portfolio dashboard.
  2. Click any row in the holdings table.

The page opens on the Overview tab. Use Back to portfolio at the top to return.

Holding detail page header

The header shows the asset logo and name, the ticker with exchange and currency pills, a Closed or Delisted pill where relevant, and on the right the current market price and the day’s change.

The Overview tab has a metrics strip, a price chart, Key Statistics, Return Composition, and a news feed.

Portfolio-level amounts use your reporting currency; per-share prices use the security’s native currency.

Capital GainUnrealised gain or loss in your reporting currency
Total DividendsTotal dividend income received from this holding to date

For cross-currency holdings, two extra cells appear — Price Gain (the capital gain with currency movement stripped out) and Currency Gain (the gain or loss from currency movement). For same-currency holdings, Capital Gain = Price Gain and no Currency Gain cell shows.

This card breaks your total return into Price Gain (always shown), Currency Gain (cross-currency holdings only), and Dividends. Each row shows the dollar amount, percentage, and a proportional bar, with Total Return summing them at the bottom.

When a security has had no live quote for an extended period, Metrifly marks it Delisted: the market price uses the last known close (with its date), and day change and misleading percentages are hidden. If fresh quotes arrive, the badge clears automatically.

The Trades tab lists every transaction for this holding, scoped by ticker and exchange — so the same symbol on two exchanges keeps separate trade lists. Each row has Edit and Delete actions; Delete asks for confirmation before recalculating your portfolio. You may see BUY, SELL, DIVIDEND, and DIVIDEND_REINVESTED types.

This tab shows the holding’s dividend activity — unconfirmed dividends at the top awaiting review, and a Confirmed dividends (N) card below where you can Unconfirm or Delete each one. For the full walkthrough of reviewing detected dividends, see Confirm your dividends.

The Notes tab is for your own observations and reminders on this holding. See Add notes to a holding.
