Review your historical cost basis

This page shows a cost-basis roll-forward for each security across a financial year: where it started, what moved during the year, and where it ended. By the end, you’ll be able to trace how each holding’s cost basis carried forward — useful for reconciling fund statements.

It isn’t in the Tax sidebar. Reach it either by:

  • Setting the FY on another tax page, then navigating to Historical Cost, or
  • Opening the URL directly: https://app.metrifly.com/tax/historical-cost?fy=FY2025.

The header shows Historical Cost, an FY dropdown, Tax settings, and Export.

ColumnWhat it means
Ticker / ExchangeThe security
Opening Units / Opening CostThe balance at the start of the year
FY PurchasesThe buy cost during the year
FY SalesThe sale proceeds during the year
AMIT AdjA cost-basis adjustment, or if none
Closing Units / Closing CostThe balance at the end of the year

The Total row sums the cost columns.

When your data includes a fund’s annual statement, the AMIT Adj column reflects it. Cross-check these against the AMIT columns on your taxable income report.
