Review your historical cost basis
This page shows a cost-basis roll-forward for each security across a financial year: where it started, what moved during the year, and where it ended. By the end, you’ll be able to trace how each holding’s cost basis carried forward — useful for reconciling fund statements.
Open the page
Section titled “Open the page”It isn’t in the Tax sidebar. Reach it either by:
- Setting the FY on another tax page, then navigating to Historical Cost, or
- Opening the URL directly:
https://app.metrifly.com/tax/historical-cost?fy=FY2025.
The header shows Historical Cost, an FY dropdown, Tax settings, and Export.
Read the table
Section titled “Read the table”| Column | What it means |

| Ticker / Exchange | The security |
| Opening Units / Opening Cost | The balance at the start of the year |
| FY Purchases | The buy cost during the year |
| FY Sales | The sale proceeds during the year |
| AMIT Adj | A cost-basis adjustment, or — if none |
| Closing Units / Closing Cost | The balance at the end of the year |
The Total row sums the cost columns.
About AMIT adjustments
Section titled “About AMIT adjustments”When your data includes a fund’s annual statement, the AMIT Adj column reflects it. Cross-check these against the AMIT columns on your taxable income report.
How it differs from capital gains
