Manage your portfolios and holdings
Metrifly organises everything by portfolio — one container per tax entity, holding its own trades, performance, and tax. Your holdings are the individual positions inside a portfolio. This collection covers both: setting up and organising portfolios, and reading the holdings within them.
Set up and organise portfolios
Section titled “Set up and organise portfolios”- Create and manage portfolios — add a new portfolio, pick its currency, switch between them, and delete one. Start here.
- Change your portfolio settings — rename it, set the return method, and configure tax and email import.
- Combine portfolios into a group — see several portfolios as one aggregated view.
- Set benchmarks for a portfolio — choose the indices you want to measure yourself against.
Read your holdings
Section titled “Read your holdings”- Understand your holdings — how holdings are created, closed, and reopened, and how cost basis works.
- Read the holdings table — every column, filter, and status pill on the portfolio dashboard table.
- Read a holding’s detail page — the five tabs of a single holding: Overview, Trades, Dividends, Notes, and Settings.
- Add notes to a holding — keep your research and reminders attached to a position.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Reporting currency is set when you create a portfolio and can’t be changed afterwards.
- Groups can’t use tax, import, or per-portfolio settings — switch to a single portfolio for those.
